Tragedy has struck the political landscape of Benue State as a Benue NDC Ward Chairman dies following a horrific and suspected targeted attack by unknown assailants.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Benue State Chapter, has vehemently condemned the gruesome alleged murder of Hon. Igbu Job Terhemen, who served as the dedicated chairman of the party in Fiidi Council Ward, located within the Makurdi Local Government Area of the state.

The shocking circumstances of his death have sent ripples of fear and outrage throughout the local community and the broader political sphere. According to early reports detailing the harrowing incident, Igbu was ambushed and attacked by suspected hoodlums. The assailants allegedly overpowered the politician, tied him securely with ropes, and forcibly injected him with substances highly suspected to be poisonous.

After carrying out the assault, the attackers reportedly abandoned him near his residence around the NNPC depot situated along the busy Makurdi-Otukpo Road, leaving him to fight for his life.

He was found in an almost unconscious state, physically incapacitated, and completely unable to speak or communicate with those attempting to render aid. Despite efforts to save him, the Ward Chairman eventually succumbed to the suspected poisoning and died.
