Drone Strike Hits Russian E-Commerce Giant Ozon, Sets Warehouse Ablaze

A drone strike has hit a major logistics facility belonging to Russian e-commerce giant Ozon in southern Russia, triggering a fire and disrupting the company’s delivery operations. The incident occurred overnight on November 4, 2026, in Adygeysk, within Russia’s Republic of Adygea, as tensions between Moscow and Kyiv continue to escalate.

The attack marks another incident involving Russia’s major online retail and distribution companies, whose warehouses have increasingly been affected by the ongoing conflict.

Ozon Confirms Drone Attack on Logistics Facility

Ozon confirmed that its logistics centre in the Adygea Republic had been attacked by a drone. The company said employees were immediately evacuated after the incident and that no casualties had been reported.

Emergency services were deployed to the location to contain the fire and assess the damage. Regional head Murat Kempilov also confirmed that firefighters were responding to the incident.

The attack forced Ozon to temporarily suspend the acceptance of deliveries from sellers at the affected facility. The company said orders that could not be fulfilled through alternative warehouses would be cancelled, while shipments already in transit would be redirected where possible.

Another Setback for Russia’s E-Commerce Industry

Ozon is one of Russia’s largest online marketplaces and a major player in the country’s digital retail sector. Its logistics network supports the storage, sorting and distribution of products ordered by customers across different regions.

The latest attack could create additional pressure on the company’s operations, particularly as it continues dealing with damage and disruptions at other facilities.

Reuters reported that Ozon had estimated potential losses of 30.1 billion roubles, approximately $367 million, from drone attacks affecting 11 of its sites. The financial estimate highlights the growing economic consequences of attacks on commercial infrastructure during the Russia-Ukraine war.

Ukraine’s Campaign Against Russian Logistics Infrastructure

The incident comes amid a broader campaign involving attacks on Russian logistics and industrial facilities.

In recent months, warehouses operated by Ozon and its competitor Wildberries have reportedly been targeted in different parts of Russia.

Ukraine’s attacks on infrastructure have been presented as part of efforts to weaken Russia’s economic and military-supporting capabilities. Moscow, meanwhile, has continued launching attacks against Ukrainian infrastructure, including energy and commercial facilities.

The growing number of incidents has raised concerns about the vulnerability of major distribution networks and their importance to national economies.

What the Attack Means for Ozon Customers

Although Ozon confirmed that employees had been evacuated safely, the disruption could affect customers waiting for deliveries from the affected logistics centre.

Orders that cannot be processed elsewhere may be cancelled, while some shipments could experience delays as the company reorganises distribution through alternative facilities.

The full financial impact of the latest incident and the timeline for restoring normal operations have not been fully established.

A Growing Economic Challenge

The attack on Ozon’s logistics facility demonstrates how the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues to affect businesses beyond traditional military targets.

For companies operating large warehouses and distribution networks, repeated disruptions can create financial losses, delivery challenges and uncertainty for employees, sellers and customers.

As the conflict continues, Russia’s commercial infrastructure remains exposed to further disruption, adding another dimension to the economic consequences of the war.
